Legend has it that Todd Avery of Ave Master Games and Clute of Hack + Slash Minis once made a decision so questionable that even the drive-thru speaker asked, “Are you sure?” They ordered anyway.
Several hours, a suspicious side dish, and one deeply regrettable bout of food poisoning later, the pair reached a revelation: if fast food was going to wage war on them, they might as well give it miniatures.
Todd began plotting a tabletop food fight. Clute began imagining the employees least qualified to survive it. Soon there were rival franchises, weaponized cutlery, deeply unreasonable monsters, and a suspiciously divine figure demanding everyone work through their lunch break.
By morning, the leftovers had been declared a biohazard and the idea refused to die. The Hangry Games was on the menu.
The meal may be a founding myth. The collaboration—and the tabletop mayhem—are very real.
